Usage

The Usage page (titled Platform Usage on screen) charts how much data the account is ingesting and what its searches cost, so you can track volume against your plan.

Page Layout​

The header shows the Platform Usage title, the subtitle The metrics for data ingress and data searched over the past 30 days, and a time-range selector in the upper-right corner. Below the header are two stacked panels of bar charts:

  • Current Usage — the recent window, re-ranged by the time-range selector.
  • Usage In Last 30 Days — a fixed thirty-day view, plotted one bar per day.

Both panels carry the same set of charts, so the same measure can be read at two scales without leaving the page.

Time Range Selector​

Four buttons in the upper-right corner set the window for the Current Usage panel. The selected button is highlighted:

  • 1H — one hour (selected by default).
  • 6H — six hours.
  • 12H — twelve hours.
  • 1D — one day.

The selector re-ranges the Current Usage panel only. The Usage In Last 30 Days panel is fixed at thirty days and does not respond to it.

Usage Charts​

Each panel contains five charts, stacked top to bottom. Every chart shows its title on the left, its unit beneath the title, the total for the window on the right, and a legend underneath identifying the series. Hovering over a bar shows a tooltip with the series name, the Time of the interval, and the Value.

  • Ingress Bytes — bytes ingested per interval (Bytes (B)). In this capture it plots a single series.
  • Ingress Count — events ingested per interval (Count), stacked by series.
  • Ingress Bytes By Data Lake — bytes ingested per interval, stacked by data lake index.
  • Ingress Count By Data Lake — events ingested per interval, stacked by data lake index.
  • Search Cost — the cost of bytes scanned by searches, in Cost (millicents), with the total shown as a dollar figure such as $0.00000. This capture shows No data available.

A chart with nothing to plot displays No data available in place of the bars. Long index names in the legends are truncated with an ellipsis.
