Page Functionality

This reference documents the pages of the Fluency web interface: what each page shows, and what each button, menu, and dialog does. It is organized the same way the interface itself is laid out, so you can look up a page by where it appears in the navigation.

How this section relates to the rest of the manual

This is the manual's user-interface reference layer, and it is the authority on what the product looks like today — it was captured directly from a running instance. The task-oriented sections elsewhere in the manual (Data Collection, Platform, Search, Detections, Administration, and so on) explain why and how to do something and link here for the screen-by-screen detail. Where a task page and this section disagree, this section is correct and the task page needs updating.

The Navigation Bar​

Every page shares the same navigation bar across the top of the screen. From left to right it contains:

  • Fluency logo — returns to the Home dashboard.
  • SIEM — behavioral detection and triage: summaries, timelines, rules, and entity tables.
  • Data Lake — searching stored events, investigations, and managing data lake indexes and schemas.
  • Platform — the data pipeline: applications, configuration, integrations, processors, usage, assets, and platform administration.
  • Reports — report dashboards, report processors, and scheduled reports.

On the right side of the bar are the Home icon, the Settings (gear) icon that opens the Settings area, a light/dark theme toggle, and the account avatar whose menu reaches the user's Profile.

In this section​

  • Home — the landing dashboard: ticket summary, data lakes, resources, and application status.
  • SIEM — Overview Summary, Behavior Summary, Behavior Timeline, Resources, Behavior Rules, and EntityInfo Tables.
  • Data Lake — Search, Investigations, Management, Schemas, KQL Query Builder, and KQL Search History.
  • Platform — Applications, Configuration, Integrations, Processors, Usage, plus the Assets and Administration sub-menus.
  • Reports — Dashboard, Processors, and Scheduler.
  • Settings — the account-administration hub: Users, Permissions, Audit, and the user's Profile.

The screenshots in this reference were captured from a demonstration instance. The data shown (event counts, rule lists, applications, and so on) will differ from your environment, but the page layout and controls are the same.
